At Enterprise Screen we love a bit of culture and when that culture is homegrown it’s even more exciting!
Paisley, in Renfrewshire, has announced its bid to become the UK City of Culture in 2021 and Enterprise Screen is backing the town all the way. We believe that this is not only a fantastic opportunity for Paisley and the surrounding areas, but for Scotland as a whole.
Our Executive Director, Jamie Smith said:
‘It’s so important for Enterprise Screen to be involved in regeneration, culture and arts. The wider impact from this kind of campaign is vital. I would encourage every business, every person and every organisation to go out and find out more about the bid! We should all get involved, even if it’s just by going along to some of the amazing events and celebrations that are planned!’
The Paisley team want us all to do our bit for the bid - and you don’t have to be from Paisley to get involved!
‘We all need to do whatever we can to show our support. Present the idea of the bid at your next meeting, use the iconic imagery in promotional material, host an event. Even if you are just talking to your friends and family, advertise the town’s culture!’
Our Production Coordinator, Ali McLauchlan, was delighted to find out that the Paisley pattern originated just a few miles from our office.
‘Coming from the US, we are all familiar with this amazingly recognisable pattern, I just didn't know it was actually from Paisley! You need to tell everyone about it!’
The Paisley pattern has been around for hundreds of years and high street stores still fill up with it every summer. So flash your Paisley pattern and show the world what Scotland has to offer.
